Dak Prescott’s name is actively hitting the MVP discussions this season.

Aaron Rodgers claims Cowboys’ Dak Prescott has become one of his favorite quarterbacks to watch this season

Dak Prescott is getting a lot of appreciation lately. For the first time in his career, his name is being actively discussed for the MVP award. The reason behind this appreciation is the performance that the Cowboys showed on the gridiron.

The team won four of their last five matches. Outscored their opponents by 90 points. The latest victory came against the Washington Commanders (45-10) on Thanksgiving Eve. It was a stellar performance that ensured the dominance of the Cowboys side over the Commanders.

Prescott had a great role in the performance of his team. Prescott had a four-TD game against the Washington Commanders. In addition to this, he had covered 331 yards of passing with a passing completion rate of 68.8%. In the last five matches, the QB registered 17 touchdowns for 1,602 yards with just two interceptions.

These stats have compelled a lot of analysts to think about Dak Prescott as the possible winner of the MVP award this season. The list also includes the legendary veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers who confessed that he is highly impressed by Prescott after seeing him play this season.

In the recent episode of Pat McAfee’s show, Rodgers did not shy away from praising Prescott as he said

Dak Prescott has become one of my favorite quarterbacks to watch.

He further went on to praise Prescott for bringing his entire team into play. This season, Prescott was spotted connecting well with CeeDee Lamb, his wide receiver. Their connection created a striking difference between the Cowboys and their opponents. The duo connected multiple times against the New York Giants and the Cowboys scored 49 points in that game.

Referring to that, Rodgers said,

I'm watching him bring the tight end back in against zero pressure – and old concept we used to run – and throw a TD to CeeDee Lamb in the back of the end zone. I'm watching him use his cadence beautifully and get into this rhythmic ‘here we go’ … using it as a dummy sometimes, into other cadences.

Aaron Rodgers has seen a lot of football this year

Since he was in the rehabilitation center for a long and was working on his recovery, the legendary quarterback got the opportunity to see a ‘lot of football.’ He confessed it before Pat McAfee on his show.

I've watched more football this year than any other year because, in normal years, you're getting ready for games, you're never watching football. You might see some scores on your phone, every now and then, see a Sunday night game, and you might get part of Monday or Thursday, but you're just not watching a lot of games. But this year I've watched a lot more games than usual.

Rodgers is set to return to the field after three months. He suffered an Achilles Tendon injury and was out for a long time. However, his present condition is fine and he might make a comeback by December 24.

Earlier, it was speculated that Rodgers would play only if the team was able to make its way to the playoffs. However, a change in his mind was reported and there are high chances that Rodgers could play the rest of the games.

This will certainly become a joy to the New York Jets dressing room as they have struggled throughout the season. After 11 games, they are standing with a 4-7 record.

The backup quarterback Zach Wilson failed again despite receiving multiple opportunities. In the coming games, the Jets will have some interesting opponents. They will face the Miami Dolphins on December 17. If Rodgers can make a comeback then it will help them to hold a fight against the mighty Miami team.
