Edmonton Oilers forward Zach Hyman delivered a powerful speech for Oilers teammates after losing the Stanley Cup Game 7. Bar Down shared a video of Hyman minutes after their Stanley Cup Finals Game 7 loss to the Florida Panthers in Amerant Bank Arena.

“There’s nothing that’s going to make this feel better. I’ve got nothing to say. But I know we’re gonna be back. I f***ing know we’re gonna be back. I know it in my f***ing heart. This is the worst feeling in the world. I hope everybody comes back too. This team is special,” Hyman said.

The Oilers made a remarkable recovery after losing the first three games in the Stanley Cup Final. Captain Connor McDavid led the charge as the Oilers won three straight games to force Game 7.

McDavid had two four-point games in Games 4 and 5. In Game 7, they lost by a single goal; the score was 2-1.

NHL analyst Frank Corrado speaks about Zach Hyman’s chances of hitting 50-goal mark

Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Zach Hyman played key roles in the Oilers’ success last season. Hyman, playing on the top line with McDavid, scored a career-high 54 goals in the regular season.

TSN’s Frank Corrado discussed Hyman’s goal-scoring ability. He suggested that while Hyman had a great season, he might have outperformed expectations. Corrado believes Hyman is closer to a 30-goal player, considering potential factors like injuries or changes in the team.

“I hate to be a buzzkill on this, but Zack Hyman is closer to the floor of 30 goals, and you just think about all the different factors that can happen in a season.” Corrado said on SportsCenter.

“Let’s say Connor McDavid gets hurt, and all of a sudden, he’s not playing with him. Let’s say Zach Hyman gets hurt, and he’s not able to play.”

Corrado also noted that while Hyman could score 40-plus goals in the next few seasons, maintaining 50 goals consistently is hard in the NHL. Hyman signed a seven-year, $38.5 million contract with the Edmonton Oilers in 2021 and is once again expected to play a major role in the upcoming season.
