Serena Williams is in the second spot on the list, only behind legendary American swimmer Michael Phelps.

ESPN recently released a list of the top 100 professional athletes of the 21st century. Among tennis players, legends of the sport like Roger FedererRafael NadalNovak Djokovic, and Serena Williams feature pretty high in the list.

Williams found herself in the second spot. The American made big contributions to tennis. She not only won 23 Grand Slams but also developed foundations to help underprivileged kids and has shown support to many women across the world.

After Williams, the next tennis player on the list was Federer, who came in at No. 6. It has been a topic of conversation on social media, as the Swiss maestro’s Majors record has been broken a two players who are still active. Nadal, who has 22 singles Grand Slam titles, was ranked at No. 12 while Djokovic, with a whopping 24 Majors, is one spot ahead at No. 11.

Carlos Alcaraz continues to make records faster than the Big Three

For more than two decades, there have been only three names that headlined the tennis world — Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic. These three have won a combined 66 Singles Grand Slam titles, among a plethora of other achievements.

However, with their era fast ending, Carlos Alcaraz, the winner of the French Open and Wimbledon title this year, has emerged as the next big star on the men’s circuit. He currently has four Grand Slam titles to his name at the age of 21, which is faster than any of the Big 3.

Federer won his fourth Grand Slam at the age of 23, while Nadal at 22, and Djokovic at 24. A huge gap to that of Alcaraz, who is en route to being a great of the sport. He has won all four Grand Slam finals he has contested to date and heads into the Paris Olympics as one of the favorites for the gold medal.
