Despite his numerous Grand Slams and records, the Olympic gold has eluded Djokovic so far.

“To get in the zone,” Novak Djokovic tries out this ‘other sport’ to get ready for Paris Olympics

Novak Djokovic has revealed that he is spending some of his pre-Olympics preparation by playing other sports to stay in the best possible shape. The Serbian took to social to share a picture of him canoeing.

The 37-year-old has made sure he didn’t dwell too much on the disappointment of losing to Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final. He has embraced the daunting task of switching from grass to clay for the Summer Games.

Djokovic recently posted a picture of him training on the clay court to give his fans a look into his preparations for the Olympics. He was spotted wearing the grey strapping on his right knee, the same knee that was recently operated on.

Djokovic will be taking part in his fifth Olympic Games in Paris. He will be hoping to clinch a maiden gold medal in what could be his final appearance at the quadrennial event.

Novak Djokovic won a bronze medal on his Olympic debut at Beijing 2008. Since then, he suffered heartbreak in the other consecutive editions.

In the 2016 Rio Games, Djokovic made an opening round exit after losing 7-6(4), 7-6(2) to Juan Martin del Potro. At the Tokyo 2020, he lost 6-4, 6(6)-7, 6-3 to Pablo Carreno Busta in the bronze medal match. The 24-time Major winner recently admitted that he was hoping to fight for a medal in the French capital this year.

Djokovic has also stated that the Olympics and the US Open are the two most important events left this year. He will be hoping to clinch a medal at the Olympics before turning his attention to the final Grand Slam of the year.
