Spanish ace Rafael Nadal is finally back on tour. Though not 100%, the Spaniard has gone two tournaments without any injuries. With the 37-year-old gearing up for his third consecutive tournament, the fans remain hopeful about his participation in the French Open.
However, Nadal is quite uncertain about the Grand Slam. With the conditions more intense and challenging, the Spaniard is unclear about his participation in the tournament where he has 14 titles. In a recent press meet in Rome, Nadal revealed the same, claiming that he was happy with where he is right now and aims to focus on Rome at the moment.
I can't have a clear answer. First of all, I want to play Rome. That's the tournament where I am today. I don't think after that. If after that I feel ready to play Roland Garros, I cannot predict what kind of emotions I’m going to have there.said Rafael Nadal via Rome Press
After an emotional end to his time at the Madrid Open, the Spaniard is more hopeful to do better in Italy. With some of the top stars out of the tournament, it allows Nadal a good chance to register his first deep run in over a year.
Moreover, Nadal also explained his decision to retire, which was because of his body. The Spaniard had lucidly stated that it was tough to get success with a body that wasn’t ready to even sustain a normal practice session.
Rafael Nadal is excited about his participation in the Rome Open
22-time singles Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal is very excited about his participation at the Rome Open. After spending a year on the sidelines, this is Nadal’s third consecutive tournament, and he is rather happy with this.
But now is my third week on the tour almost in a row, so... It's a good moment, even if the results are not what they used to be. But I am increasing my feelings, my level. Let's see. Yeah, I want to keep going.said Rafael Nadal via Rome Open press.
