Whoopi Goldberg’s daughter, Alexandrea “Alex” Martin Dean, was the perfect plus-one on the red carpet at the launch of her mom’s new cannabis line.

Goldberg, 68, and Alex, 51, were all smiles as they posed for photos at “A Night With Whoopi” on July 20.

“The View” moderator was 18 when she was welcomed Alex with then-husband Alvin Martin, a drug counselor. When Alex was born in 1973, Goldberg had already dropped out of high school.

In an interview with TheGrio.com, Alex recalled what life was like before Goldberg made it big in Hollywood.

“I know what it’s like with the food stamps, because my mom has her (welfare) cards framed,” Alex shared. “I remember we had the one room space and we slept in the bed together.”

Alex, an actor and film producer, has been married three times — to the same man. She and Bernard Dean divorced twice before getting hitched again in 2011. The couple share two children: Mason (born in 1998) and Jerzey (born in 1995). Alex is also mom of Amara, who she welcomed at age 15.

“Years later, Alexandrea told me that she thinks she got pregnant as teenager because she wanted one person in her life who didn’t know who Whoopi Goldberg was,” Goldberg shared in her memoir “Bits and Pieces.”

When Goldberg introduced Alex as a guest on “The View,” in 2016, she described her as “one of the most trustworthy and loyal people I know.”

“She is somebody who makes me laugh,” Goldberg continued. “We can talk to each other any time during the day or night. I just like her a lot.”

Goldberg also enjoys a close relationship with her grandchildren.

“Me and my grandma are super close. She’s everything,” Amara, an artist, told Essence.

“She wants us to be real people. Stuff is not handed to us,” she added.
