A “female assassin” who tried to shoot a male in England has been identified as 44-year-old female Milwaukee Brewers employee Aimee Betro.

The woman, who has ties to both Milwaukee and Chicago, has been accused of attempting to murder a store owner in Birmingham, according to the Daily Mail and Birmingham Live.

The Mail reports that Betro was employed “as an administrator for the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team.”

Birmingham Live describes her as a “female assassin from America” who “tried to shoot a man in the street in Birmingham.”

It’s reported that a father and son, namely Mohammed Nazir and Mohammed Aslam, were found guilty of being involved in the unsuccessful murder plot. Betro, said to have been contracted to carry out the killing, remains at large, according to prosecutors.

The British papers claim the 44-year-old was hired to kill boutique owner Sikander Ali because of a business dispute and wore a hijab as a disguise, but her gun jammed during the attempt.

“She walked quite calmly towards Sikander Ali and was pointing a gun at him at head height,” prosecutor Kevin Hegarty said, per the Daily Beast. “As she got closer to Sikander Ali he saw her and he saw the gun and she pulled the trigger to fire the gun at him. Mercifully and luckily for him, the gun jammed.”

The site also noted that there were conflicting reports on the target and that Betro “may have actually intended to kill the man’s father Aslat Mahumad.”

She reportedly sent him a text asking, “Where are you hiding?” after the failed attempt.

Betro, who fled the country, is believed to be back in the United States and is also alleged to have used fake names at the hotels she stayed in.

Heavy.com claims to have contacted the Milwaukee Brewers to confirm Betro’s employment with the team.
