While America was dealt another shakeup yesterday (July 21) in an already unprecedented election year, not everyone is in a frenzy over the news of President Joe Biden ending his reelection campaign. In fact, Whoopi Goldberg admitted this morning that she’s flat-out “bored” by the chaos of this year’s path to the presidency.

The View's Whoopi Goldberg Says She's “Bored” By Presidential Election Drama | Decider

On this morning’s episode of The View, Goldberg stunned the Hot Topics table by confessing that she’s over the discussions of age and voter demographics that have dominated the last few weeks of political discourse.

While Alyssa Farah Griffin said she thought a lot of people were feeling “energized” by the prospect of Vice President Kamala Harris as nominee — which, as she pointed out, the Trump campaign had not been expecting, leaving them at a disadvantage — Goldberg swiftly countered her claim.

Griffin said, “I’ll be honest, I’m just excited,” but Goldberg replied, “I’m bored by it, I’m telling you.”

“The messaging that we have put out to people over a certain age is horrific,” Goldberg proclaimed. “We have basically said, ‘Hey, you know what? We kind of think if you’re over a certain age you don’t really have what it takes to do the job that you’re doing.”

“I’m bored by hearing that,” she continued. “I’m also bored by people saying, ‘Well, you know it’s the next generation.’ It’s still an unknown. We can believe what we like to believe, and I love Kamala and have defended her from day one.”

Goldberg said that while she “knows” Harris can “do the job,” she wished Democrats had better handled everything preceding her presumptive nomination — “not publicly and in everybody’s face.”

“What it did was, it had us sitting having to talk about this endlessly … I’m bored by the ‘Oh my gosh, what’s going to happen?’ Because I know that the American people, regardless of who the nominee is gonna be, it’s gonna be up to the people,” Goldberg said.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
