Aleksandar Vucic, president of the Serbian nation, has announced the construction of a museum for the 24-time Grand Slam champion
Novak Djokovic deserves a statue. Or rather, something more. And in fact the Serbian government will go further, honoring its champion with a museum, which will celebrate all of Nole’s great successes, the last of which was the Olympic gold medal won in Paris in the men’s singles final against Carlitos Alcaraz. Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic announced from Belgrade on Tuesday that he had had the first technical meetings on the construction of a museum dedicated exclusively to Nole, which will be a new attraction for the entire capital.

“Mallorca has a museum on Rafael Nadal. We will make sure to show what Djokovic has done for our country, attracting tourists at the same time. Novak is bigger than Rafa,” explained Vucic, hoping that the structure can be opened to the public from 2027 and highlighting the record of the most weeks spent at the top of the ATP ranking by the Serbian champion.

“I could never give up on the dream of winning this gold medal, just as the Serbian people never gave up on me. Together, we believed in the impossible. Even though I may be the one holding this medal, I want every Serb to know that it belongs to all of us. Representing his nation is the greatest honor in the world. This medal, these moments, this life, none of this would have been possible without your unwavering support,” wrote Djokovic on Instagram, sharing an emotional video.
When we talk about Djokovic, we are talking about one of the greatest not only among tennis players, but also among all sportsmen in history. The Serbian champion has won 24 Grand Slam titles, celebrated over 400 weeks at the top of the ATP rankings and achieved an endless series of extraordinary records.
A few days ago Novak Djokovic achieved the last great record of his career, winning the only title missing from his incredible collection: the Olympic gold medal. In the past, Nole has chased this result several times but had always failed, succeeding in what was probably his last time at the Olympics.
In the final everyone gave Alcaraz the favorite but Nole denied everyone once again and achieved a titanic feat. The tears at the end of the match and the hug with the rest of the family were emotional, but the Serbian tennis player was recognized for another particular reason. Several media have been talking about it in the last few hours.

Specifically, the Serbian federation donated 200 thousand euros to Djokovic for winning the gold medal and the champion wanted to donate it to the most needy. Yet another beautiful gesture that sees the Serbian champion as the protagonist and which demonstrates how much of a champion he is both on and off the tennis court. Nole has already been known for gestures like this in the past and now Djokovic is making people talk, once again for an extraordinary gesture. A champion on and off the court, and the most successful tennis player in the history of the sport.
