Marjan Vajda praised the milestone achieved by the Serbian champion in Paris

Novak Djokovic rewrote tennis history, at Paris Olympics, winning his first Olympic gold medal of his career and completing the Career Golden Slam. The Serbian champion broke every possible record and – especially after 30 years – proved that nothing is impossible. Recovering from serious injuries and winning.

We saw it now: a month and a half after surgery to the meniscus of his right knee, Nole first reached the final at Wimbledon, then won the gold medal in the Paris Olympics final, against the same opponent, Carlitos Alcaraz. Nole won the gold medal at the Olympics, he conquered the last great trophy that was missing from his collection.

His former long-time coach Marjan Vajda shared a beautiful post on social media, in which he praised his former player and countryman for the great milestone achieved in Paris.

“Nole! Mission accomplished! After so many years of sailing you reach the shore!!! The long-term effort has translated into an Olympic gold medal around your neck!! An exceptional achievement, I am so proud of you! I was moved when you nailed the last fantastic F winner!!! Congratulations to your family and all the members of your team!” said Vajda.

Carlos Alcaraz was coming off victories at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, for many Nole was a clear underdog. It was enough to look at the bookmakers before the match and they almost thought there was no match. After all, just like we saw at Wimbledon, but Nole proved everyone wrong. Once again. In the past, everyone thought that the Serb could not reach the levels of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, he did not have that talent and that strength and instead Nole, with work and hard sacrifice, proved everyone wrong. And he surpassed them.

This time Djokovic managed to take a big revenge and, while everyone almost thought he was finished, he managed to rewrite history. Djokovic grew on the serve, he disoriented Alcaraz with great shots and he disunited him in the tiebreaks. Two tiebreaks where the Spaniard suffered the experience of his opponent and where we saw the age difference between the two.
