Novak Djokovic kept alive his dreams of winning an Olympic gold medal at Paris 2024 by beating Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals of the men’s singles on Thursday.

The 37-year-old Serb – who has won more Grand Slam singles titles than any other man but is not yet an Olympic champion – beat Tsitsipas 6-3 7-6.

But it was not an easy win for Djokovic, who had defeated Matthew Ebden and Rafael Nadal earlier in the competition.

Djokovic staged a remarkable fightback from 4-0 down in the second set, before forcing a tie-break that he eventually won 7-3.

However, this match will be best remembered for the outrageous point that brought the first set to its conclusion.
