Novak Djokovic is celebrating the “biggest achievement of his career” – winning Olympic gold at Paris 2024. The tennis star was seen partying with family in Dubrovnik after defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the men’s final, a victory that has long been elusive for him.

The Serbian athlete was spotted enjoying alcohol while celebrating with loved ones – a rare sight as Djokovic is known for his preference for an alcohol-free lifestyle to maintain his high performance standards. He was photographed sipping what seemed to be champagne from a boat before diving into the Croatian waters.

In a 2019 interview with VICE, he admitted, “I haven’t been drinking for years,” and “I sometimes did and as an athlete who rarely drinks, which is well known, one drink will throw me into the machine and I don’t know where I am.”

However, this isn’t to suggest that Djokovic hasn’t occasionally deviated from his usual habits. As he approaches retirement, it appears that the superstar’s stance on partaking in alcohol may be softening.

After his epic victory over Rafael Nadal at the 2012 Australian Open, Novak Djokovic had a memorable encounter with alcohol. The grueling match left him so dehydrated that officials allowed him to drink beer in order to provide a urine sample for doping tests.

The tennis star then celebrated into the early hours with volunteers, belting out karaoke tunes. This story has led some fans to ponder what they’ve missed by not seeing Djokovic indulge more often.
