Thomas spent just three years with the Celtics, but it felt like a decade based on the amount of memories and highlight reel plays he gave the TD Garden faithful.

On Monday night, the ex-Celtic and current Phoenix Suns guard shared his three-word reaction to the Celtics’ 18th championship, a reaction that had fans giving the lionhearted 5-foot-9 guard his flowers for paving the way.

“They did that,” Thomas said succinctly with a handshake emoji afterward, seeming to indicate a rapport with the Celtics’ current roster.

Fans reacted to Thomas’ post with words of encouragement and support for the contributions he made to the Celtics’ franchise over the years.

“You paved the way brother,” one fan said with a white heart emoji at the end.

“They did that IT wish you were a part of it,” another fan said with a crying face emoji and a pair of praying hands emoji.

Another reader on X was even more complimentary to Isaiah Thomas, making a wild suggestion.

“Celtics should slide you an honorary ring for what you did for that team!” they added with two fire emojis.

“You’re included in that brother,” another fan added. “Everyone who’s played in Boston is a Celtic today. Once a Celtic, always a Celtic.”
