After Meghan Markle sent a “letter” inviting Taylor Swift to join the Archetypes podcast but was rejected, the singer happily took photos with Prince William and his children after the Eras Tour. The incident attracted the attention of the media and the public.

Prince William appeared to be in high spirits as he met pop superstar Taylor Swift after her Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium. The future king even joined in the lively dance moves at the concert before meeting the new generation “Queen of Pop” backstage. Also in attendance at the special event were Prince George and Princess Charlotte – two of Prince William’s children. Both took selfies with Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

This lighthearted interaction is in stark contrast to the response Meghan Markle received when she sent Taylor Swift a “handwritten letter” to appear on her podcast Archetypes. The Telegraph revealed that Meghan wrote a “handwritten letter” to Taylor last year in the hopes of getting her on the podcast, “but the singer declined through her agent.” Meghan’s podcast Archetypes ran for one season on Spotify, with 12 episodes hosted by Meghan, interviewing a host of high-profile guests including Serena Williams, Paris Hilton, and Jameela Jamil.

Since being discontinued by Spotify, the Duchess of Sussex’s show has been entangled in controversy when it was reported that both Meghan and Prince Harry were dropped by the platform. A senior Spotify executive is said to have criticized the Royal couple, calling them “frauds”. Despite the scandal, Meghan Markle has partnered with Lemonada Media and is preparing to launch a new podcast series next year, following the success of her first podcast series ‘Archetypes’.

Earlier this year, Meghan expressed her excitement for the project: “I’m proud to share that I’ll be joining the incredible team at Lemonada to continue pursuing my passion for podcasting.” She added: “Supporting a woman-founded company with a roster of thought-provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a great way to start 2024. We’re working on plans to relaunch Archetypes to make it more accessible to more people, as well as launch a dynamic new podcast. I can’t wait to share it soon and am thrilled to be joining the Lemonada family.”
