Sunny Hostin excitedly announced the launch of her Ama’s Blend Rosé on this morning’s episode of The View. However, she was left confused when Whoopi Goldberg chimed in to stop her from revealing one seemingly minor detail about the wine label.
Hostin told the audience that her wine is named after the protagonist in her New York Times bestselling Summer Beach series, Amelia “Ama” Vaux Tanner, who buys a vineyard in France and starts making her own rosé.
According to Hostin, she even uses her “own handwriting on the label” because Ama writes handwritten notes.
But that little fun fact didn’t sit well with Goldberg.
“Um, Sunny. This is not your handwriting on the label,” she fired back. “It is one of the ways you write. This is not your signature. This is not how you write your signature.”
While Hostin insisted “it is” her handwriting, Goldberg continued to object, telling her, “No.”
“I’m gonna write you a note and tell you why it’s not,” the longtime moderator finally said, to which Hostin sheepishly replied, “OK. It’s not. Tell me later.”
Goldberg seemingly explained the problem to Hostin while the video for the next Hot Topics segment played, though she didn’t tell the audience why she didn’t want people to know that her co-host used her own handwriting on the wine label.
“Was it necessary for Whoopi to say that’s not Sunny’s handwriting in the bottle?” one confused fan asked on X (formerly known as Twitter), while another added, “Right?! She could’ve left that alone and not ruin Sunny’s moment.”
Sunny: “this is my handwriting on the bottle”
Whoopi: “this is not your handwriting. It’s one of the ways you write.
Sunny: “but it is—-“
Whoopi: “it is not.”
Well damn! 😭

A third person said, “Imo, it was tacky and tasteless for Whoopi to call out Sunny on that not being her signature on her wine bottle.”
However, someone else noted that it “might have something [to do] with someone trying to copy her signature,” which is most likely the reason why Goldberg rushed to the rescue.
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
