Angel Reese is one of the most recognizable players in the WNBA. Her collegiate basketball career was incredible, perhaps only overshadowed by the brilliance of Caitlin Clark.

As such, she was selected seventh in the WNBA Draft, and the attention which has followed her progress ever since has been hugely intense.

Angel Reese opens up about a little fan’s question in a moment of mutual admiration

Despite fears that Reese wouldn’t be quite ready for the professional ranks, she has excelled, earning a spot on the All-Star team as one of two rookies, securing seventh place with 381,518 votes.

This achievement coincided with a special occasion for her agent, Jeanine Ogbonnaya, whose birthday Reese celebrated in a unique way, with Ogbonnaya calling her ‘the sister I never had’.

The pair are remarkably close

Reese marked Ogbonnaya’s birthday by posting heartfelt pictures on Instagram.

“Dirty 30, Happy Birthday to my favorite agent, manager, sister, auntie, friend all in oneeee! Thank you for changing my life three years ago,” Reese posted on Instagram.

“I wouldn’t be here without you. Love you, enjoy your day.”

Ogbonnaya responded to the message in a positive manner.

“The sister that I never had. I love you the most, my All-Star,” the agent posted.

How did this bond get created?

The bond between Ogbonnaya and Reese dates back to Reese’s time with the Maryland TerrapinsOgbonnaya has been a constant presence, witnessing Reese’s rise from a college star to a WNBA All-Star.

Reese acknowledges Ogbonnaya’s crucial role in her success.

Ogbonnaya’s son, Christopher Jr., also shares a close bond with Reese.

In April, he posted an Instagram story tagging Reese and the Chicago Sky, wearing a team t-shirt with the caption, “Happy 2nd day of camp, aunty,” showing his support for Reese’s WNBA journey.

Reese now looks forward to a significant matchup, teaming up with her former rival, Caitlin Clark, during the WNBA all-star game.
