Liam Neeson, 71, is retiring from his action career
Actor Liam Neeson has confirmed he will be putting down the dumbells and walking away from his impressive career as an action star.
The world-renowned star is best known for his roles as brooding action heroes with plenty of stunts and fight scenes, but as he approaches 70, he says he has decided to retire.

He told Entertainment Tonight ‘I think so’ when asked if he was ready to hang up his action roles once and for all.
“I’m 68 and a half, 69 this year,” the star pointed out. “There’s a couple more I’m going to do this year — hopefully, COVID allowing us — there’s a couple in the pipeline and, then I think that will probably be it.”
It seems the actor will consider one kind of action role, however, though it won’t be in the way fans are used to seeing him on screen.

“Well, unless I’m on a Zimmer frame or something,” he joked.
The star told the US site that it was in fact while filming in Australia in December that he realised it was time to move on.
“I said, ‘That’s the age of my eldest son!’”

It was while filming this movie in question that Neeson won Aussie hearts over with an unexpected nod to essential workers.
The 68-year-old was shooting his new action movie Backlight in Melbourne and while he may be a busy man, the star took the time to brighten the day of some of the city’s frontline workers.
The ctor surprised a Melbourne hospital with flowers and a handwritten note that read: “To all you lovely Aussie and Irish nurses. Thinking of you all. Much love and respect, Liam Neeson.”
Nurses at Royal Melbourne’s Hospital were left starstruck shared photos of the surprising delivery, sharing their thanks to the star on Facebook.
“I will find you…and I will…treat you,” the post jokingly began, referencing his fan favourite movie Taken.
