Devil Fruits are the main source of power in One Piece, and while most of them from the source material, there are some that fans wish were canon.

One Piece Clank-Clank Fruit, Return-Return Fruit, Gol-Gol Fruit

Other than Haki, Devil Fruits are the main power system in One Piece. Fans have seen dozens of Devil Fruit powers over the years, and the vast majority of those powers are part of One Pieces official canon. That being said, there are a good amount of non-canon Devil Fruits as well. Most of these non-canon Devil Fruits are forgettable, but there are a few that would be welcomed into the canon with open arms.

Most of the non-canon Devil Fruits that should be made canon can be seen in One Piece movies or specials, but several only appear in anime filler arcs. There are three categories of Devil Fruits, but the best non-canon powers belong to the Paramecia-class. As a result, the users have a variety of superhuman abilities.

One Piece fans are slamming the anime for once again fumbling a standout moment for Sanji in the “Egghead” arc that paled in comparison to the manga.

10The Luck-Luck Fruit Can Steal Other People’s Luck

First Appeared In One Piece Film: Gold

Sanji experiencing bad luck after having his luck stolen by Baccarat's Luck-Luck Fruit in One Piece Film: Gold.

Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia
Known User: Baccarat

Most One Piece fans would agree that Luffy and the Straw Hats benefit from a great deal of luck, and the Luck-Luck Fruit could drastically change that if it were canon. If the user successfully touches someone, they can steal that person’s luck. In doing so, the user becomes extremely lucky – while their target is forced to become very unlucky.

In certain situations, the user becomes invincible because of the luck they have stolen. The target who lost their luck will immediately have to deal with unfortunate occurrences. The user can only hold onto the stolen luck for a short time, and they cannot control what that good luck is used on. If it were canon, the Luck-Luck Fruit would come in very handy, but more importantly, the concept of bad luck and mistakenly wasting good luck on silly things would be entertaining.

9The Return-Return Fruit Can Reverse The Aging Process

With 15 One Piece movies having been released, here’s your guide to the ones worth watching and those you should skip.

The Neo Marines are a splinter faction who wish to annihilate every pirate in the New World, and they had a few Devil Fruit powers – including the Return-Return Fruit. This Devil Fruit is similar to the Rewind Quirk in My Hero Academia, but it lacks the Quirk’s healing aspect. The user can generate pink energy, and if they touch someone with it, they will force them to become twelve years younger.

If this happens, the target will lose any strength they acquired during those twelve years. If the user keeps using this power on the same target, they can revert them back to a time when they were never born – which would erase them from existence. If the Return-Return Fruit was canon, it could be used to keep beloved characters alive for as long as possible. It can also be used to beat someone like Imu if he is indeed immortal.

8The Through-Through Gives The User The Power To Phase Through Objects

First Appeared In One Piece Film: Gold

Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia
Known User: Tanaka

The Through-Through Fruit does not have much offensive potential, but it is still an interesting and useful Devil Fruit. The user gains the ability to phase through any type of solid object. In essence, the Through-Through Fruit’s power is intangibility, and the user can extend that intangibility to other objects through physical contact. Unfortunately, the user cannot phase through living things.

This Devil Fruit makes escaping a lot easier, so it would be a good fit for cowardly characters like Nami or Usopp. It would also work well for perverted characters like Absalom. It can even be used to help protect important characters because the user can make them immune to sword attacks, bullets, and non-biological Devil Fruit powers.

7The Gol-Gol Fruit Allows Someone To Manipulate Gold

10 One Piece Devil Fruits That Would Make Nami Even Stronger

Nami hasn’t eaten any Devil Fruit, but if she did, she should consider the best fruits for her skills—such as the Op-Op Fruit or the More-More Fruit.

There are several Devil Fruits that perfectly allign with their user, and the Gol-Gol Fruit would fit a thief or any type of wealth-obsessed villain. It would give that character the power to telekinetically manipulate gold, but it will only work if they physically touch that piece of gold. Once the contact is made, they will be able to manipulate that gold whenever they want.

The user can make the gold change between solid and liquid states, and they can shape it however they like. They can encase others in golden tombs, or they can give themselves a golden suit of armor.

6The Pet-Pet Fruit Is Perfect For A Villain

First Appeared In One Piece Episode 625, “Intense! Aokiji vs. Doflamingo”

Breed uses the Pet-Pet Fruit collar on himself to strengthen himself in One Piece.

Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia
Known User: Breed

Tama’s Devil Fruit can instantly tame any animal, but the effects only last for about a month. The Pet-Pet Fruit is a bit stronger because it can control any living thing, and it can do so almost indefinitely. The user can create a gel-like collar, and if the collar is successfully placed around the victim’s neck, the user can order them to do anything. That being said, the collar will shatter if the victim’s willpower is extremely strong. The collar will also disappear if the user is knocked unconscious.

If necessary, the user can place the collar on themselves. By doing this, the user can order their own body to use its full potential. This is the type of Devil Fruit that a canonical villain like Doflamingo or Kaido would love to have at their disposal. If a Celestial Dragon possessed the Pet-Pet Fruit, fans would dislike them even more because they would likely force slaves to hurt their families.

5The Hot-Hot Fruit Makes The User Immune To Extreme Temperatures

First Appeared In One Piece Episode 326, “Mysterious Party Of Pirates! The Sunny And A Dangerous Trap”

Don Accino creating heat orbs with the Hot-Hot Fruit in One Piece.

Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia
Known User: Don Accino

The Straw Hats encountered the Accino Family and the Hot-Hot Fruit after leaving Water 7. If someone eats this Devil Fruit, they will gain the ability to produce and control large quantities of heat. This power is similar to the Heat-Heat Fruit used by Charlotte Oven of the Big Mom Pirates, but there are a few key differences. Unlike the Heat-Heat Fruit, the Hot-Hot Fruit makes the user immune to extreme heat and cold.

The Hot-Hot Fruit’s power is also directly linked to the user’s emotions. If the user is calm, than the heat will be fairly safe, but the heat can reach hazardous levels if the user is angry. With enough heat, a Hot-Hot Fruit user can melt anything that they touch. This would be the perfect Devil Fruit to use against Fleet Admiral Akainu or Kuzan because it would theoretically nullify their Logia powers.

4The Grow-Grow Fruit Would Enhance Usopp’s Plant-Based Weaponry

First Appeared In One Piece Film: Z

Usopp being restrained by the Grow-Grow Fruit in One Piece Film: Z.

Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia
Known User: Binz

The Neo Marines also possessed the Grow-Grow Fruit – which has decent offensive potential. With it, the user can super-accelerate plant growth, and the plants can become quite large. The Grow-Grow Fruit also allows the user to control the plants that were grown. They can use the plants for defense, but in most cases, the plants will likely be used to restrain one or more enemies.

If the Grow-Grow Fruit was canon, it would be a great power for Usopp to have since he uses plant-based ammunition. Admiral Ryokugyu appeared at the end of the Wano arc, and he displayed his plant-based Logia. Other than fire and Haki, the Grow-Grow Fruit would theoretically be the best way to counter Ryokugyu’s Devil Fruit – which turns him into a plant-human.

3The More-More Fruit Can Enhance An Object’s Strength & Speed

First Appeared In One Piece3D2Y Special

Byrnndi World fighting Luffy with the More-More Fruit in the One Piece 3D2Y anime special

Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia
Known User: Byrnndi World

Luffy faced the More-More Fruit during the timeskip, and it proved to be a dangerous Devil Fruit. If the user physically touches something, they can amplify the object’s speed and size up to 100 times. The user can turn a small pile of rocks into deadly projectiles, and they can use their power to turn a cannonball into a large high-speed bullet.

The More-More Fruit can enhance the user’s speed as well. With this increased speed, the user can put more momentum into their attacks. They can also increase the size of their sword or fist to make their attacks even stronger. Luffy had a hard time dealing with this Devil Fruit because it is strong in the right hands. If it were canon, the More-More Fruit would be great for melee fighters like Koby or Garp.

2The Whisper-Whisper Fruit Allows Someone To Speak With Animals

First Appeared In One Piece Episode 54, “Foreboding Of A New Adventure! The Puzzling Girl, Apis”

Apis uses the Whisper-Whisper Fruit to to soothe a dragon in One Piece.

Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia
Known User: Apis

From the beginning, One Piece has tried its best to avoid meaningless episodes, but even this shonen masterpiece has filler content worth skipping.

The Warship Island arc takes places immediately after the Loguetown arc, and it is One Piece‘s first filler arc. This arc introduced the Whisper-Whisper Fruit – which offers a power that many people wish they had in real-life. It gives the user the ability to telepathically communicate with animals. Unlike Shirahoshi’s Sea King ability and Tama’s Millet-Millet Fruit, this power cannot control an animal or manipulate its will.

That being said, the Whisper-Whisper Fruit is still a fun power to have. The animals can spy on the targets or locations, and they can warn ships if danger is approaching. This power works best if the user is able to develop a bond with the animal. The Straw Hats have met numerous animal companions over the course of their journey, and the Whisper-Whisper Fruit could have made communicating with them easier and more entertaining.

Douglas Bullet controlling the colossus that he created with the Clank-Clank Fruit in One Piece: Stampede.

Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia
Known User: Douglas Bullet

The Clank-Clank Fruit is similar to the Op-Op Fruit, but in some ways, it is a bit better. It gives its user the power to telekinetically disassemble any object, and they can then reassemble it however they want. Like the Op-Op Fruit, it can manipulate matter to a degree, but the Clank-Clank Fruit is not restricted to a specific area. The user can use this power to build ships, submarines, metal suits, and various mechanical structures.

The Clank-Clank Fruit becomes even stronger with Devil Fruit Awakening. If this happens, the user can restructure the landscape of an entire island. In the right environment, they can use the landscape to create a colossal weapon. If the Clank-Clank Fruit were canon, it would be the perfect Devil Fruit for a shipwright or engineer like Franky to have. They could build anything they want, and they could repair things a lot quicker.
