In a recent episode of Gil’s Arena show, former NBA player Rashad McCants and Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings discussed the basketball careers of former Indiana Pacers shooting guard Reggie Miller and Los Angeles Lakers star player LeBron James. McCants explained why he ranks Miller’s legacy higher than James’s.
Brandon Jennings: “So you respect Reggie Miller’s legacy over LeBron [James’]?”
Rashad McCants: “Yeah… Because [he] didn’t have anywhere near the pieces Bron had… I think if [he] had those pieces, his legacy [would have been better].”
LeBron James Thrives with Star Teammates While Miller Misses out on Luxury
McCants explains that LeBron James has been blessed with top-tier teammates, a luxury that Miller never experienced. James played alongside Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade when he joined the Miami Heat after the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010. With the support of these star players, James won two straight championships in 2012 and 2013.
After landing with the Cavaliers in 2014, James was surrounded by Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, who helped him succeed. James is now playing alongside Anthony Davis, who provides him with essential support. On the other hand, Reggie Miller did not receive strong support from his team during his career. However, players like Mark Jackson, Jalen Rose, and Dale Davis significantly impacted Miller’s career.
Miller spent his 18-year NBA career with the Indiana Pacers and is widely considered the greatest player in the team’s history. After retiring from the NBA, he joined TNT as a commentator player of all time. After retirement from the NBA, he joined TNT as a Commentator.
James recently caused controversy by unfollowing former NBA players, including Kendrick Perkins, from his social media account. Perkins didn’t hold back and made challenging statements about the unfollowing.
