Nearly one month after Rory McIlroy filed for divorce from Erica Stoll, the four-time major champion did some soul-searching and talked with his estranged wife to the point that they decided to keep the family together.

Rory McIlroy and his wife, Erica Stoll, resolved their differences, but it seems the golfing star had another reason for making that decision.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, McIlroy decided to postpone the divorce because he was about to lose a lot of money.

Basically, it would be cheaper to keep her.

The golf star has made more than $200 million over his career, and he was growing concerned that the number could be slashed in half.

“Perhaps, The cold realisation of exactly how much the divorce could cost him hit hard.

McIlroy has amassed a fortune of more than $200 million, and his projected earnings in his career are predicted to be more than double that figure.

Surely he didn’t want to see all that money he’s accrued diminish.

It would have felt like a huge waste if millions ended up in the pockets of lawyers.”

McIlroy filed for divorce on May 13, but by June 1th, his attorney filed a notice of voluntary dismissal on behalf of the golfer in Palm Beach County Court.

“There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumor is a fool’s game,” McIlroy told The Guardian on Tuesday.

“Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

Stoll and McIlroy share one daughter, who they welcomed in 2020. Whatever the reason, you have to feel excited for the young child that she has another chance to grow up in a happy household.

CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis had her name thrown in the mud as rumors swirled that she was in a possible relationship with Rory McIlroy, and questions surrounding both of their marriages.

Multiple pictures were seen of the two embracing or bonding, but nothing concrete substantiated the rumors.

Balionis is married to former NFL quarterback Bryn Renner but has been spotted without her wedding ring and had soon dropped his last name on social media, which further fueled speculation that McIlroy and Balionis might be in a relationship.

Now that the golfing star is returning home, the rumors can finally stop, and Balonis can focus on what is happening with her home.
