Mike Tyson’s fight with Jake Paul is set to go ahead despite the 57-year-old boxing legend requiring treatment on board a flight

Mike Tyson faces off with Jake Paul

Mike Tyson WILL be fit to fight Jake Paul this summer despite requiring medical attention on a flight on Sunday night.

Tyson, 57, was treated on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles after he became nauseous and dizzy after an ulcer flared up 30 minutes before the plane was due to land. Reports suggest a message was put out over the tannoy asking if a doctor was on board.

The flight landed two hours late but a representative for Tyson insisted this was due to an air-conditioning fault. “Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great,” read a statement issued to Mirror Fighting. ” He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him. However, it’s false reporting that his medical attention caused the flight delay. This two hour delay was due to air conditioning issue on the aircraft.”

Mirror Fighting understands Tyson’s incident will not affect his fight with Paul on July 20.

Concerns have previously been raised about Tyson fighting at the age of 58, as he will be when the first bell rings in Texas in July. Nathan Howarth, Development and Operations Director at the Concussion Legacy Foundation UK, has said Tyson could be in danger of suffering a brain injury.

” Boxing has an inherent risk of concussion and then there’s an increased risk of traumatic brain injury we have seen like bleeds on the brain,” he told Betway. “I’m not saying there is any evidence that as an older fighter, Mike would be at risk of that, however, we do know the impacts of subclinical concussions.
