Still no new coach for the Lakers, even though the franchise accelerated the process this week with a crazy offer for Dan Hurley. But it’s a decision that doesn’t please Kevin Garnett.

Long on JJ Redick, who remains a possible candidate for the position, the Lakers made a surprise offer for the UConn coach this week and after a meeting this Friday.

We do not know the exact figure for Dan Hurley, but Anthony Irwin mentioned a deal in the $100 million range for 8 seasons, proof that the Angelinos seem to have made their choice behind the scenes.

Is Hurley ready to accept, or is he using this offer from the Lakers to get a better one from UConn?

This is a completely plausible scenario today for some insiders.

What is certain is that the name Hurley is not unanimous. On his Twitter account, Kevin Garnett criticized the decision.

The Lakers could, however, choose stability here with a contract over 8 seasons.
