Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard made a huge name for himself during the NBA Finals as he had two buzzer-beaters that went incredibly viral in game 2 and the deciding Game 5, but his fiancee Emma Macdonald ended up stealing the show.

Emma Macdonald went viral during the NBA Finals, so now it’s time to examine her and her relationship with the star player further.

The Boston Celtics guard proposed to MacDonald last summer after the two of them went public on social media in February 2023.

Emma has grown quite the platform, boasting over 365,000 followers on Instagram and 843,000 more on TikTok. The former New England influencer, along with her sister, Maggie MacDonald, has been filming blogs on her TikTok and YouTube channels, where she has another 369,000 followers.

In the midst of her husband’s growing NBA career, she also shares their wedding planning process, with the guard admitting she was taking the lead on planning.

“She’s kind of handling everything, I’m just the final decision maker,” he told NBC Sports Boston in November 2023. “If she’s in between a decision, I come in and make the final decision on it.”

Payton Pritchard’s Fiancée Emma Macdonald Reveals How They Met Each Other

In June 2023, during a Q&A on her Instagram Stories, MacDonald revealed that she and Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard first met when he left a simple “hey…” in the comment section of one of her posts, which took place in 2021.

She responded “hi” in his Instagram messages.

The relationship actually did not progress after that message. They would soon reconnect on the dating app Raya.

“Worked out just how I wanted it to,” he joked.

After they began dating, Emma Macdonald stated Pritchard would suddenly start referring to her as his girlfriend before they even spoke about titles.

“I kinda already assumed she was my girlfriend,” he admitted. “I don’t know, I just thought it didn’t need to be said, I thought it already was.”
