Ancient city disappears at night and appears at the bottom of the sea after a thousand years

As one of the four great civilizations of ancient times, ancient Egypt has always been shrouded in mystery, seemingly containing countless secrets that cannot be fully explained; in many documents about ancient Egypt, there are mentions of the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh city “Heracleion” (Thonis-Heracleion); even in the fables, myths and epics of ancient Greece, there are mentions of an ancient Pharaoh city with a high civilization and extremely prosperous located near the Mediterranean; however, this ancient city disappeared without a trace overnight, mysteriously missing.

In order to find the ancient city of Pharaoh, a team of archaeologists including archaeologists from France and Egypt conducted a comprehensive search and survey in the Mediterranean Sea; with the help of advanced electronic equipment and after hundreds of exploratory dives on the seabed, they finally found the location of Heracleion, located in the north of Abu Qir Bay near the port of Alexandria, at a depth of about 4,000 meters below the Mediterranean Sea floor.

Some experts speculate that it may have been due to climatic and geological changes in the Nile Delta that caused the ancient city to sink to the bottom of the sea; other scholars believe that it may have been caused by a natural disaster. Looking at the architectural ruins that were completely preserved at the bottom of the sea, it can be seen that the pillars and walls of the ancient city almost collapsed on the same side, so it is very likely that they were destroyed by a major earthquake.

Experts discovered that this ancient city is actually located in a very earthquake-prone area called the “Mediterranean-Indonesian Seismic Belt”, the annual earthquakes in this area account for about 15% of the total number of earthquakes worldwide, and most of the earthquakes are “shallow-focused” [*] and distributed along densely populated areas, so the destruction is also extremely large.

As for the reason why Heracleion sank into the sea, historians still have no way to find an exact answer, moreover, was it possible that all the residents of the ancient city at that time were also buried under the sea?
