NFL fans are losing their minds over a viral image showing an absolutely shredded Kirk Cousins during Atlanta Falcons camp.
The Falcons signed Kirk Cousins to a massive four-year deal worth $180 million in free agency. The deal includes $100 million guaranteed for the 36-year-old, who spent the previous six years with the Minnesota Vikings.
Cousins is currently listed at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds on the Falcons’ official team website, but he obviously put the work in the gym this offseason to get even more shredded:
And social media was stunned to see just how jacked the four-time Pro Bowler looks right now:
The Falcons signed Kirk Cousins after a third consecutive 7-10 finish, once again held back by inconsistent quarterback play. The team fired head coach Arthur Smith and replaced him with Raheem Morris, who served as Atlanta’s interim HC in 2020 following the firing of Dan Quinn.
A month after signing Cousins, the Falcons shocked everybody by selecting Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. Cousins himself admitted he was surprised by the pick.
Cousins and the Falcons will open the 2024 season with a home contest against the new-look Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kirk Cousins Looks To Get Falcons Over The Hump Of Mediocrity
The Falcons haven’t made the postseason nor recorded a winning season since 2017, when they snuck into the playoffs with a 10-6 record.
Cousins guided the Vikings to the postseason twice (2019 and 2022) despite lackluster coaching and a woeful defense for most of his tenure there. But alas, the four-time Pro Bowler gets the chance to win on an Atlanta team loaded with offensive weapons.
Cousins and his Falcons also have the benefit of playing in football’s worst division, one that has produced a single team with double-digit wins since 2021 (the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers). So for once, the Falcons are well-positioned to finally break through with their first playoff berth in seven years.
