Stephen A. made a comment on First Take, saying he didn’t understand how baseball players get injured.

“Mike Trout is a sensational players when healthy, one of the greatest, and I’m a huge huge fan,” Stephen A. said.

“But I’ve grown disgusted with his lack of availability. I know he looks the part.

“What the hell are you doing to take care of yourself? Always injured. I mean, damn, it’s baseball.

“What are we talking about here? It’s not football. It’s not boxing. It’s not the UFC.”

According to Stephen A, baseball players don’t play hard enough in order to get serious injuries.

“How the hell is he always hurt? I don’t understand this!” Stephen A. yelled.

“It drives me crazy when I see baseball players getting hurt. What is it that you’re doing with yourself physically that you can’t stay healthy?”

While Trout has faced significant challenges with injuries in recent years, it’s essential not to overlook the remarkable dominance he has displayed throughout his career.

Prior to 2021, Trout consistently appeared in 114 games or more each season, excluding the Covid-shortened campaign. His durability and consistency speak volumes about his dedication and skill.

Trout’s accolades further underscore his greatness. As a nine-time All-Star and three-time MVP, he has consistently been recognized as one of the most outstanding players in the league. Even in 2024, before his injury, Trout was showcasing his excellence by leading the league with 10 home runs.

Additionally, Trout’s consistent presence among the top contenders for the MVP award for nine consecutive years, from 2012 to 2019, highlights his exceptional impact on the game and his team’s success.

Despite his accomplishments, Stephen A. can only see injuries when looking at Mike Trout.

“Somebody that great, I wanna see him on the field when it counts,” Stephen A. said.

MLB fans were furious with Stephen A’s analysis of Trout and clamored for him to apologize to one of the game’s biggest stars.

“Stephen A Smith yelling over Mike Trout getting hurt with a torn Meniscus he should apologize,” one fan said.
