RITA ORA has been slammed for her Met Gala outfit, with many people asking if it is part of her Primark fashion range.

Last night’s Met Gala theme was ‘Garden of Time’, and was in conjunction with the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

A-listers from across the globe, flooded to New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art to show off their looks at the prestigious fashion event.

From Cardi B taking up the entire red carpet with an enormous  black tulle ball gown, to Sydney Sweeney debuting a brand new hairstyle, fans were wowed by many of the outfits worn by the exclusive list of invitees.

However, musician Rita Ora, was one celebrity that many were not impressed by.

The Black Widow singer opted to wear a nude jumpsuit for the event, paired with a dress made from hundreds of beads, which hung from her neck by a wire, almost as if it was a necklace.

The look was designed by Italian designer Marni and the singer explained in an Instagram post the dress “encapsulates in the most delicate and powerful manner a real tapestry of human crafts spanning a period of two millennia from Egypt to Rome.”

Rita elaborated that the dress is crafted from antique glass beads sourced from various corners of the world, with origins dating back to the first and second century BC. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she emphasized the garment’s essence, stating, “It’s about celebrating the beauty of the female form, women’s presence, and existence, achieving a lot through simplicity.”

Despite the historical significance of the materials, some individuals questioned whether the attire was part of her fast-fashion Primark collection. One commenter pondered, “Wonder if this is from her Primark collection,” while another quipped, “Rita Ora serving Primark, can we pan back to Ayo Edibiri please?” A third individual humorously inquired, “Will this be released in her Primark collection?”

In contrast to the speculation, Rita’s spring collection features abundant floral and denim designs, with 60% of the line incorporating recycled or more sustainable materials.

Accompanying Rita at the event was her husband, New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi, who also donned attire from Marni.

The What We Do In The Shadows star opted for a brown leather suit, paired with a bold diamond necklace.

The Met Gala takes place every year on the first Monday in May and is widely regarded as the worlds’ most prestigious fashion event.

It is organised by Vogue and each year celebrates the theme of the year’s Costume Institute exhibition.

Invitees are often culturally relevant celebrities and a ticket to the event costs £60,000 ($75,000).
