A massive trade proposal has the Atlanta Hawks shaking up their core by dealing veteran star Bogdan Bogdanović to a top team out west that would make them the 2025 NBA championship favorites.

Bogdan Bogdanović has been widely mentioned in trade rumors this offseason, more than a year after he signed a four-year contract extension with the Hawks worth a whopping $68 million.

The Hawks finished 36-46 last season and fell to the Chicago Bulls in their play-in game. 2023-24 marked another step back for the Trae Young-led Hawks who shocked the league by reaching the Eastern Conference Finals just three years ago.

Barring a significant offer that can’t be turned down, it looks like Bogdan Bogdanović will open 2024-25 with Atlanta. But what if a title contender out west came forward with such a proposal?

Fran Leiva of Fadeaway World proposed a mammoth three-team trade proposal that would see Atlanta deal Bogdanović and a 2031 first-round pick to the Denver Nuggets, with the 2023 NBA champions also getting Bruce Brown from the Toronto Raptors.

In Leiva’s proposal, the Hawks would receive Michael Porter Jr. and Chris Boucher from the Nuggets and Raptors, respectively. As for the rebuilding Raptors, they’d get Zeke Nnaji from the Nuggets and Hawks standout guard De’Andre Hunter:

“This trade also positions the Nuggets well for future success, with the added first-round pick from Atlanta providing valuable assets for long-term planning. The flexibility offered by Brown’s defensive capabilities and Bogdanovic’s shooting makes the Nuggets a more well-rounded team. This strategic balance addresses some of the defensive vulnerabilities they faced last season and enhances their scoring options beyond Jokic and Murray.”

Last season, Bogdan Bogdanović averaged a career-high 16.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He has knocked down 38.4 percent of his career three-point attempts, shooting above 40 percent in that category twice since joining Atlanta.

Bogdan Bogdanović Would Make Nuggets NBA Title Favorites

The Nuggets may have endured a disappointing playoff exit at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves last year, but there’s still a case to be made that the Nikola Jokić-led group is the team to beat in the West.

The duo of Jokić and Jamal Murray are tough enough to defend as is. If Denver added a third big-time scorer and three-point specialist like the Atlanta star, they would be the team to beat.
