Kelly Stafford had multiple decisions to make when speaking about her past relationships, and she chose the wrong one when revealing details about how she and Matt Stafford ultimately ended up together.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford, has been going insanely viral on social media after she revealed a controversial story about their relationship during their days at the University of Georgia.

During an appearance on the “Off the Vine” podcast, Kelly detailed meeting the quarterback during their college days at Georgia, but the pairing didn’t exactly hit the first time around.

That’s when she revealed to podcast host Kristin Bristowe that she would go on to date the backup quarterback just to upset him.

“It wasn’t that cute of a relationship at first,” Kelly said. “I hated him, I loved him. I dated the backup to piss him off, which worked — he was the bad boy too. Matthew’s so sweet and a Southern gentleman and all that stuff. And the backup was the complete opposite, and it upset him.”

Ole Miss football staffer Joe Cox was the backup quarterback, and he has now spoken out about the matter.

The former Bulldogs quarterback decided to ignore all of the hoopla surrounding him when he took to X and posted from inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

He is simply getting ready for the 2024 football season and refuses to let anything interfere with it.

Cox played quarterback at Georgia from 2005 to 2009, serving as Stafford’s backup in his first three seasons before he became the starter as a senior.

Kelly Stafford Sparks Retirement Fears For Rams Quarterback

Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly, had Rams fans ready to cry as they feared the quarterback could deliver a second blow to the team following the shocking retirement of Aaron Donald.

Donald surprised fans at SoFi Stadium when he told them he’s ending his 10-year career with the franchise.

His announcement got responses from people all over the football community, including Kelly Stafford.

Posting on Instagram, she said: “Chills. Can’t believe I’ll be watching football without you on that field. You definitely set the bar high for the generation behind you. Miss you and @ericadonald99 already. We love y’all so much and know the future is bright! Hell, maybe I’ll get Matthew to retire, and we can do it together!”

Stafford has been a huge part of the Rams’ success since being traded there in 2021. He would help them win the Super Bowl in his first season.
