Team Serbia faced a tough challenge at the Paris Olympics as they struggled to overcome Team USA in all of their matchups. After losing to the USA in both a tune-up game and a group stage game, Serbia fell once again in the semifinal, with Kevin Durant leading Team USA to a hard-fought victory and securing their spot in the Olympic finale.
However, not everyone was celebrating Team USA’s success. A passionate Denver Nuggets fan rooting for Serbia and Nikola Jokic took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration with Team USA’s victory. The post quickly caught the attention of Durant, who didn’t hesitate to fire back. Team USA’s top scorer responded to the fan with a blunt reply.
“To all you Nuggets fans, nobody gives a fuck who yall lames believe is the best player in the league. Players got major respect for Jok, we don’t worship him like yall do but most are in awe of his brilliance. Trolling you cornballs for rooting against us is apart of the game. Deal wit it,” Durant wrote.
The USA’s team managed to outscore Jokic’s Serbia 32-15 in a crucial stretch of the game, overcoming a 17-point deficit to ultimately win 95-91.
LeBron James Is Eyeing Another Historic Win With Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant
For the first time in Olympic history, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant teamed up on the same roster. Their combined talent was on full display in Team USA’s dramatic comeback victory over Serbia in the semifinals. However, after the hard-fought win, James signaled the trio’s focus on winning the gold medal, featuring a photo of himself, Curry, and Durant.
“One more,” James wrote.
In the game against Serbia, Stephen Curry finished with a game-high 36 points, shooting 12-for-19 from the field. James added 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, and Durant added nine points on 4-of-8 shooting and three rebounds. It will be interesting to see whether the American trio will clinch gold for the first time together at the Olympics.
