Liam Neeson’s film has been praised by viewers on Amazon Prime

Liam Neeson’s film The Grey has been hailed as “bone-chilling” and “tremendous” by new viewers who have recently stumbled upon it online. The thriller was added to the free options for Amazon Prime members, who have been taking to the web to sing praises about the plot and Neeson’s performance.

Directed by Joe Carnahan, The Grey hit the screens in 2012. The narrative revolves around six oil workers stranded in a remote part of Alaska after their plane crashes, reports the Irish Star. Neeson takes on the lead role of Ottway, a proficient huntsman who attempts to guide the group past a pack of ruthless wolves towards survival. The Irish actor received accolades for his work on the film, which raked in over $81million globally.

The Grey seems to b enjoying a resurgence, having been rediscovered on Amazon Prime. Reviews have been surfacing on platforms like Rotten Tomatoes over the past weeks, with some viewers admitting they’ve even returned to watch it a second or third time. The film boasts an 80 percent approval rating from critics – but only a 61 percent score from audiences. That appears to be shifting now, however.

“A cut above the usual survival film as it adds a layer of philosophy and even a subtle spiritual aspect,” one viewer penned on Rotten Tomatoes.

Another commented: “A tremendous movie. Liam Neeson’s acting is brilliant. Not sure how anyone can say this is not a good movie. Story, cinematography, acting are fantastic.”

Described by an early critic review as both “bone-chilling” and “relentless”, many agreed. An audience member noted: “Brutal film. This is a very tough film to watch. I’ve seen it many times. Definitely not a feel good movie but the performances are outstanding.”

Meanwhile, Neeson’s latest film, In the Land of Saints and Sinners, released on Netflix in May, has garnered more positive reviews. The hit movie, directed by Robert Lorenz and based in 70’s Ireland continues to thrive on the platform.
