Tyson is competing in his first professional fight since 2005 when he faces Paul in November and a new poll has favoured the boxing legend to win by KO

Boxing fans have backed Mike Tyson to KO Jake Paul in a new poll ahead of their controversial fight.

Tyson was scheduled to fight social media sensation Paul on July 20 but their fight has been pushed back to November 15 after ‘Iron Mike’ suffered a stomach ulcer flare-up whilst onboard a flight. The professionally sanctioned bout will still take place at the original location, AT&T Stadium in Texas, with the same fight rules.

A new poll with over 270,000 responses has produced an overwhelming result with 72 percent of fans predicting Tyson will KO Paul. Eleven percent of those who voted think Tyson will beat Paul on points, with 10 percent backing Paul to get the nod on the scorecards. Just 6 percent think Paul will score the 7th KO of his career by stopping Tyson.

Paul refused to badmouth Tyson for pulling out of their original date and showed his class by wishing the 58-year-old well in his recovery from his health scare.Tyson, who hasn’t competed in a professional fight since 2005, plans to resume light training in the next few weeks and is confident he can become the first man to KO Paul.

“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best rescheduled date for all parties. While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out,” he said.

Paul is competing in his 10th professional fight against Tyson and has only tasted defeat to Love Island star Tommy Fury when they fought last February. ‘The Problem Child’ has KO’d unknown boxers Andre August and Ryan Bourland in his last two fights and sent Tyson a warning by writing: “New date, same place, same fate.”

The undercard of the mega-event features a highly-anticipated rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano two years on from their award-winning first fight. Former UFC title challenger Darren Till fights Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on the card and Paul snubbed the Scouser’s offer to replace Tyson.
