Eminem has hit out at Netflix for cancelling Marvel’s The Punisher, as part of the video-on-demand platform’s decision to end its partnership with the company.
The rapper, 51, took to Twitter to vent his frustrations after the news broke that the drama was being cancelled following the release of its second season.
In his brutal message, the 8 Mile hitmaker blasted: ‘DEAR @NETFLIX, REGARDING YOUR CANCELLATION OF THE PUNISHER, YOU ARE BLOWING IT!! SINCERELY, MARSHALL (sic).’

The show follows former marine Frank Castle on a quest for revenge for the death of his family, after the character first appeared as an adversary to Daredevil in the hero’s second season.
Frank, played by Jon Bernthal, was so popular amongst fans that he was given his own spin-off show with two brutally violent and intense outings.
Ben Barnes, who stars in the show as the title character’s former friend and current enemy Billy Russo, responded to the rapper’s tweet with glee, writing: ‘No words necessary – @Eminem has spoken.’

Netflix revealed their intention to cancel the show via a statement with Deadline on Monday, in which they said: ‘Marvel’s The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix.
‘Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal, delivered an acclaimed and compelling series for fans, and we are proud to showcase their work on Netflix for years to come.’
The statement added that Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter as the superhero-turned-private eye, will also be cancelled after its third season, which has yet to be given a release date.
The streaming platform wrote: ‘We are grateful to showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, star Krysten Ritter and the entire cast and crew, for three incredible seasons of this groundbreaking series, which was recognised by the Peabody Awards among many others,’ the statement continued.
Culling: Netflix also said they’d be cancelling Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter (pictured) as the superhero-turned-private eye, after its third season which is yet to be released
Curtain call: This comes after Netflix also cancelled Marvel’s Daredevil which starred Charlie Cox (pictured) in the lead role as the blind lawyer-turned-vigilante Matt Murdock
Marvel replied to the news, saying: ‘On behalf of everyone at Marvel Television, we couldn’t be more proud or more grateful to our audience.
‘Our network partner may have decided they no longer want to continue telling the tales of these great characters… but you know Marvel better than that.’
The company added: ‘As Matthew Murdock’s Dad once said, “The measure of a man is not how he gets knocked to the mat, it’s how he gets back up.” To be continued…!’
This comes after Netflix also cancelled Marvel’s Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist series, thus ending their joint deal that was first announced in 2013.
End of the road: Luke Cage, starring Mike Colter (pictured), was cancelled in October 2018
Hanging up his cape: Iron Fist, starring Finn Jones (pictured), was the first of the Netflix and Marvel co-productions to be cancelled
