Giovanni Pernice is cashing in on his Strictly Come Dancing fame amid his row with BBC bosses.

The professional dancer, 33,  is not part of this year’s lineup amid the misconduct scandal surrounding the ballroom competition that has seen former partner Amanda Abbington accuse him of bullying during rehearsals.

And, according to The Sun, Giovanni and some of his co-stars, including Lauren Oakley, Kai Widdrington, Nadiya Bychkova and Anton Du Beke are booked to perform at the Dancing With The Stars showcases in Windsor and Newport next year.

However, this could come as a rule-break as the broadcaster forbids its stars from taking on work that could be deemed to similar to the show that made them famous.

The policy states: ‘Actors and artists in BBC output should not appear in promotional work which mimics on-air roles.’

A source said: ‘Gio’s inclusion will raise eyebrows as he is, of course, no longer part of the Strictly cast

Giovanni has been touring the country in Together Again with Strictly judge Anton Du Beke in recent months.

When his co-star celebrated his birthday over the weekend during their show in Llandudno, Clwyd, Giovanni encouraged the crowd to join in with the celebrations.

He said: ‘Happy birthday to my best friend. Let’s shake this bum on stage tonight extra hard to celebrate.’

Another Strictly star currently under fire is Graziano Di Prima for his alleged behaviour towards Zara McDermott when she was a contestant last year.

A probe recently  found he ‘punched and kicked’ the former Love Island contestant during rehearsals and she broke her silence with a bombshell statement posted to social media.

She said: ‘When I was invited to be a contestant on the show it really was a childhood dream come true. I fully understood the level of commitment and hard work that Strictly was going to be and I dedicated everything to it. I am a resilient person and I was fully prepared to put in whatever it took.’

‘And so much of my Strictly experience was everything I could have dreamt of. The entire production team and everyone behind the scenes as well as my fellow contestants were so amazing to worth with.

‘However, my experience inside the training room was very different. Reports have been made about my treatment on the show and there were witnesses to some events, as well as videos of particular incidents which are incredible distressing to watch.

‘I have wrestled with the fear of opening up – I was scared about public backlash, I was scared about my future, I was scared of victim shaming. But after a lot of conversations with those I love, I’ve gained the strength to face these fears, and when I was asked to speak to the BBC, I spoke candidly about my time on the show.’
