The 2024 NBA Draft is just around the corner. As the draft day nears, predictions and potential picks are rapidly evolving. According to the latest news from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, it seems certain that Alex Sarr will be selected by the Washington Wizards as the No. 2 overall pick.

I think No. 2 is pretty much a lock to be Alex Sarr to Washington,” Givony stated.

Meanwhile, Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer reported that the Atlanta Hawks are contemplating between Zaccharie Risacher and Donovan Clingan for the No. 1 pick.

At this point, most team personnel picking in the slots behind Atlanta believe the Hawks will ultimately choose between French wing Zaccharie Risacher and UConn center Donovan Clingan,” Fischer said.

Atlanta Hawks Struggle to Secure Workout with Alex Sarr Ahead of 2024 NBA Draft

The Atlanta Hawks secured the top pick in this year’s NBA Draft through the lottery. they have been evaluating several prospects in preparation. Initially, Alex Sarr was the favorite among betting outlets and draft analysts. However, Jonathan Givony reported that Atlanta has not worked out the French star.

The Hawks have been unable to bring Alex Sarr in for a workout to this point, but the door remains open for that to potentially happen. Rival teams have largely viewed the Wizards as a landing spot for Risacher or Sarr, depending on which direction the Hawks go,” Givony noted.

Jake Fischer also echoed the same situation. Fischer reported that Sarr has been avoiding workouts with the Atlanta Hawks. He aims to secure his position with the Wizards at the No. 2 spot.

The Wizards are likely to remain at No. 2 as well, where Washington has the league convinced it’s focused on selecting Alex Sarr from the Perth Wildcats. The Wizards, according to people familiar with the situation, invested the most time and resources of any NBA club, sending various personnel to Australia to evaluate Sarr,” the report read.

The first round of the NBA Draft is set for June 26 at 8 p.m. ET, with the second round following on June 27 at 4 p.m. ET.
