Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard sent the internet into a frenzy after appearing at the Gervonta “Tank” Davis vs. Frank Martin boxing match in Las Vegas with a new hairstyle. For most of his career, Leonard has been known for his ‘Cornrows’ hair, which has become almost as iconic as his on-court dominance.
On Sunday, a photo circulating on social media showed Leonard sporting a shorter, clean-cut look with his braids gone.
Fans were quick to react, with many expressing disbelief and even mourning the loss of Leonard’s signature style.
One fan claimed that Leonard “lost his aura” after cutting his iconic braids.
Other fan tweeted that it was “over” for the Clippers’ star after his new look.

While some fans were initially disappointed by the haircut, the internet quickly pivoted to lighthearted jokes and memes. Many joked that teammate Paul George, known for his own unique hairstyle, must be feeling relieved he doesn’t have to compete with the braids anymore.
Whether sporting braids or a bun, one thing remains certain: Clippers fans are eagerly awaiting Leonard’s return after a long injury layoff from the court. The 32-year-old is working hard to return to fitness before the Paris Olympics, which will begin next month.
