The Boston Celtics displayed on Thursday night why they were called the super team this season after battering and bruising the Western Conference winners, the Dallas Mavericks.

The Boston side secured a 17-point lead early in the opening quarter which became hard for the Mavs to chase in the following quarters. By the end of the first half, the Celtics were leading by 21 points. Though the Mavs outscored them in the next two quarters, it wasn’t enough to fill the dent the Eastern table toppers created. Showing their worth as a championship finalist, the Celtics acquired a comfortable 107-89 win at the end.

Following the game, Bleacher Report shared a statistic on X (formerly known as Twitter) that stated Irving hasn’t bagged a win against the Cs since 2021 and his record went to 0-11 after Thursday night’s game. On seeing the post, NBA fans on social media said similar things about Kyrie Irving, who couldn’t shine at the TD Garden yet again against his former team and could manage to put up a 12-3-2 stat line.

“Boston owns Kyrie there no other way around it”, commented a fan under the post.

Another fan sarcastically added, “11 is his number, he needed to reach it”.

Mocking him for performing his best, a fan wrote, “I thought the boos were going to motivate him, thats what everyone said”.

While someone believed, “Boston gods punishing Kyrie for stepping on the leprechaun’s face. That’s not cool”.

Kyrie Irving Reacts to Celtics Environment

Knowing the bitter relationship Kyrie Irving has with the Celtics fans, it was obvious that the environment would be hostile in Game 1 at Boston’s home court. However, the Mavs guard mockingly stated that he was expecting more from the crowd.

After their loss, when Kyrie was asked about Boston’s environment in the post-game presser, the 32-year-old said, “It’s basketball at the end of the day. Being in this environment, I’m used to it at this point. Earlier in my career, there was a different relationship that I had with Boston… I thought it was gonna be a little louder in here.”
