Former QMJHL goaltender Creed Jones has sadly passed away at the age of 24, his former team confirms.

Jones played for three different teams in the QMJHL throughout his junior career before he went on to play college hockey with the University of Ottawa.

He spent the majority of his time in the league with the Gatineau Olympiques however, where he played 64 games across three seasons. It was the Olympiques who confirmed that Jones had passed with a statement made on their official X account. (all posts have been translated from French)

The Sherbrooke Phoenix, also of the QMJHL also shared their condolences in response to the news, a nice gesture from a rival team in the league.

All our sympathies to his family, friends and former teammates as well as to the big Olympic family 💐

Jones also appeared in 24 games with the Rimouski Oceanic and five games with the Saint John Sea Dogs throughout his QMJHL career. In total, he posted a record of 27-47-8. He had two shutouts, both coming with the Rimouski Oceanic in the 2019-20 season. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace Creed.
