Alexander Karmanov is 7-foot tall and is one of the biggest and tallest hockey players to ever play the game and agreed to join Penn State in the NCAA next season.

Penn State have been one of the best team for decades in the NCAA, and now they are about to get a whole lot taller and bigger. They will be an even bigger force to be reckoned with over the next several years.

A 16 year-old Russian by the name of Alexander Carmanov has agreed to play for them.

Penn State has received a commitment from Russian 2008-born forward Alexander Carmanov.

Karmanov is a whopping 7-foot tall and his weight comes in around a staggering 250 pounds. Imagine being an opponent and having to deal with this massive presence on the ice. No one is going to be messing around.

We have yet to see whether his size will allow him to have more or less success at the College level, however this is a very interesting signing by Penn State, and depending on how he does there, could be someone that many NHL teams covet at a future NHL entry draft.

In his junior career so far, Karmanov has not let his height and weight slow him down, as he’s done very well in three major competitions, two of them at the U16 and one at U18. Karmanov has also scored nine points in 18 games.
