The alarms went off for the Chicago Sky today, as Tuesday’s practice was suddenly canceled ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Washington Mystics. Chicago, still in the mix to clinch a WNBA playoff berth, is reportedly going through a health scare as several players felt sick this morning.

According to Annie Costabile of the Chicago Sun-Times, multiple players fell ill on Tuesday, which prompted the last-minute cancellation. The team’s medical staff advised players to wear masks at Sachs Recreation Center.

Angel Reese puts ‘wigs’ on her dream list of Barbie’s accessories

This news came as a surprise for many people, even those within the Sky organization. The team’s general manager opened up on this situation, saying that players were tested for COVID-19.

“We’re testing for COVID-19 and speaking with our doctors to hear what they would suggest progression-wise,” Jeff Pagliocca said.

The Chicago Sky is scheduled to take on the Washington Mystics at Wintrust Arena tomorrow at 7 p.m. EDT, as the team keeps fighting for a playoff berth. But, this situation could affect those plans. That said, Pagliocca added that the Sky will have enough players to compete.

After that, the Sky are scheduled to play against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in the first-ever edition of a Barbie themed game. It’s unclear if Angel Reese was one of the players affected by the unknown illness, but her absence would be major for the team and its fans.

Angel Reese explains what accessories she would have if she had a Barbie doll ahead of Chicago Sky special game

Ahead of Friday’s night game against the Indiana Fever, Angel Reese was asked about what accessories she would get for her Barbie doll. Reese had a thorough answer, as she wanted her doll to have more than one style.

“If I had a Barbie, which, you know,” she said, referring to her nickname, ‘Chi Barbie.’ “If I had a Barbie, I’d make sure I have, like a vault of so many different clothes, like different styles of clothes. So like sporty, like super girly, maybe like edgy. So I would have, like so many different kinds of looks.

“And then I’d also have like so many different kinds of wigs,” she added.

The Chicago Sky are in the middle of a three-game skid, despite Angel Reese’s impressive run of 20+ rebounds for three games in a row. The Mystics game presented a good chance to bounce back, but given the concerning news, that remains to be seen.
