LeBron James couldn’t have imagined a rejection would turn his security into jeopardy. The 4-time champion was allegedly savoring his lunch with former teammate and close friend Dwyane Wade in New York City. During this time, a fan approached for a picture with the 39-year-old, but he was turned down. What the angry fan did next, shook the internet.

Frustrated with the rejection, the fan filmed a video disclosing the location of LeBron. He stated in the clip, “Yo LeBron dumped my picture so I’m about to make his sh*t dumb hot! Everybody pull up, he’s having lunch right here. Everybody pull up to Au Cheval, he’s sitting right there. His security dumped my sh*t. But if anybody wants a picture with LeBron, pull up right here he’s eating lunch with Dwyane Wade.”

If there was any truth behind his claim and some fans would have taken it seriously, then LeBron might have had security concerns, but as of the time of writing, no such report has emerged. The incident happened hours before the 2024 NBA Draft night two, the big day for LeBron as he was waiting to hear his son Bronny’s name called out.

LeBron James Reacts to Bronny James’ Draft

LeBron James was eagerly waiting for Bronny to start his NBA journey so that they could share the same stage. But little did he know that they would soon share the same locker room. Yes, the 19-year-old point guard got selected by the LA Lakers as the 55th pick and the father couldn’t hold himself back from sharing a special post on Instagram.

Just like he shared a message with Bronny before the draft, LeBron shared a series of pictures, including Bronny’s childhood picture and with both of them in the Lakers’ jersey, LeBron wrote “Legacy” in the caption.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, some members of the James family along with Bronny’s friends gathered to celebrate his big news. The Insider stated, “After the Lakers delivered their decision, LeBron led the group in a champagne toast to commemorate the occasion, a source told ESPN, and was ‘very emotional’ considering the weight of the moment.”

Bronny’s draft was indeed an emotional moment for his close ones. Now all the eyes will be on LeBron, whether he decides to stay with the Lakers and fulfill his dream of playing with his son or enter free agency.
