The voice of reason was needed in this discussion against Bronny James, where there are many who are offering their opinions from their comfortable seats without even getting a wiff of playing time inside the court.
The opinion that truly matters is from players or former players who know how this world works. And there is no better opinion than that of a former Laker, Mr. Shaquille O’Neal.
He has kids who are college level athletes and he knows exactly what Bronny James is currently going through.
At the moment, the kid hasn’t even played a single game and he still didnt’ get his chance to shine.
But there are many who are already starting to send vitriol his way. For Shaq, people need to be a little patient and see what he is actually capable of.

Shaquille ONeal is one of those authorized voices who is sending a warning to all those nay sayers who are coming after Bronny James.
He wanted to issue a warning and request that the kid is allowed to showcase his skills.
When the time comes and the season starts, then anybody will be able to critique his performances
. But in the mean time, Shaq wants for all the attacks to stop.
During The Big Podcast recent episode, here’s what Shaq said: “I would like the scrutiny to get off Bronny James. My nephew. He’s a kid. Great kid. All he wants to do is play. It’s unfortunate for kids that have to live up to what we have done. I hope he has the opportunity to play well. I hope he has the opportunity to make a name for himself. I’m sitting watching all this [criticism]. All that stuff’s unnecessary.”
One of the main aspects of Bronny James taking up on this challenge is that he could’ve easily waited another year or even picked a different team to play next season.
But his determination to play alongside his father got him to eventually accept that he would be scrutinized for coming to the Lakers.
No criticism leveled against him will ever change the fact that Bronny needs to be commended for the bravery of facing this criticism head on.
At the end of the day, he will get his chance to respond to every single haters in the best possible way he knows: inside the basketball court.
