As he prepares to share the FIBA courts with LeBron James for the first time in the ranks of Team USA, Stephen Curry was obviously delighted. However, the King would not embody the teammate with whom he would dream above all to evolve.

At 36, he is paradoxically preparing to compete in his very first Olympic campaign. The cherry on the cake is that Stephen Curry will be defending the colours of the United States in Paris with a most impressive supporting cast this summer.

Indeed, Steve Kerr has called upon a veritable armada to erase the blunder of the last World Cup and will notably be able to rely on the services of a certain LeBron James .

The two Akron natives will therefore play side by side for the first time outside of the All-Star Game, something the Warriors point guard was delighted about on House of Highlights :

Stephen Curry: Bron is the player I’m most looking forward to playing against, for sure, having played against him for who knows how many years.

LeBron James excluded, Steph Curry reveals his dream teammate

By finally playing an official match with LeBron, Curry will see a sort of fantasy come true in the days to come. However, when it came to designating THE player he would have dreamed of playing with in the NBA in his podcast Heat Check , it was not the name of the King that he cited. Instead, his choice fell on another legend with an oh-so-full list of achievements, namely… Tim Duncan:

Stephen Curry: I would have loved to play with Tim Duncan. I watched the end of his career and even played a playoff series against him.

I don’t know him that well personally, but Coach Kerr told me there were a lot of similarities between him and me in terms of leadership, coaching in the locker room, being consistent and just overall managing your career.

He’s obviously one of the greatest power forwards in the history of the league. He’s played for the same franchise his entire career and everyone he’s played with, at any point in his career, has had incredible things to say about his leadership and his ability to carry a franchise like the Spurs. He’s a true champion and a winner.

I know there’s a lot that goes into it and it’s hard to sum it all up, but it would have been great to play with him.

Seduced by the words of Kerr, but also of other former Spurs players, Steph would have seen himself teaming up with the Big Fundamental. A duo that would have certainly caused serious damage within the league.

Even though Steph Curry is looking forward to playing in the Olympics with LeBron James, the latter does not appear to be his dream teammate. Indeed, the Chef would have preferred Tim Duncan, with whom he has many things in common, according to him.
