Kim Mulkey’s instincts outpace Angel Reese’s as she wows the WNBA world with her latest gesture toward a Baylor alumnus: “That’s our coach!!! 🔥😍💜💛”

Kim Mulkey rarely appeared in the WNBA games before. In fact, when she joined Angel Reese in her winning game against the Washington Mystics, the Bayou Barbie noted that the head coach does not really go to games.

However, seems like this year is different for her as well. Yesterday, the LSU’s WBB coach went to see her former lady Bears DiJonai Carrington and Kalani Brown lock horns in Arlington.

And just like Reese said, the beyond-the-court Kim Mulkey is very loving and caring. Consequently, fans resonated with the words to cheer on the 62-year-old coach.

Kim Mulkey shared her elation of bringing her granddaughter Sage Avery and grandson Kannon Reid Fuller to their very first WNBA game. She took it to her Instagram account and posted a photo with her two former students. Mulkey captioned the post, “Took Kannon and Sage to their first @WNBA game today! We enjoyed seeing @kalanibrown.21 & @dijonai__ playing back in Texas!”

Yesterday was a gripping game between the Dallas Wings and the Connecticut Sun. The top-ranking team in the league so far held on to continue their winning streak. DiJonai Carrington who was a game leader against Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever, earlier this week, grabbed 14 points in an 85-67 win. The hosting Wings could not bounce back from their 7-game losing streak. Kalani Brown added 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists in the matchup. While the day did not go for the Wings as they would have hoped, Kim Mulkey certainly got her name in the spotlight.

Kim Mulkey fans show her love after she makes another round for her former players

Angel Reese’s homecoming in the DMV area to take down the Mystics got even brighter when her former coach Kim Mulkey showed up on the bench. However, looks like the 4x NCAA DI champion coach is all about supporting all of her players as well. Surely, her gesture won everyone’s hearts as she showed up in Texas. One LSU fan commented on her post, giving her a shout-out. The basketball Hall of Famer coach has undeniably been with some notable players like Reese and Alexis Morris among others, who went on to fetch a place in the WNBA.

“That’s our coach!!! 🔥😍💜💛 she’s coached some greats for sure!”

One basketball follower stated how not all the coaches can say that their players are in the world’s toughest league. If we look at it, seems like Tara VanDerveer, Geno Auriemma, Dawn Staley, and Kim Mulkey make the most of WNBA’s players’ NCAA coaches. The fan suggested the same and called it a major flex.

“To see the girls you coached in the W is a major flex 🔥🔥🔥..all coaches cnt brag on💪🏾💪🏾”

An Instagram user was simply delighted at the fact that Kim Mulkey kept her promise and showed up for her players. Moreover, while she primarily gained more attention after LSU’s epic run, she also came out for her Baylor students. Although Carrington did not win a national title with Mulkey, she is showing her worth as a great asset for the Connecticut Sun this year.

“Love me some Kim Mulkey and glad she kept her word in seeing her Baylor and LSU Championship girls”

Another basketball fan brought back what Angel Reese had mentioned before about Kim Mulkey. According to her, many feel like she is strict with her players. However, once you get to know the coach, she is truly caring and wants to connect with her players. With the description quite visible today, a fan ensured to point that out.

“I love that coach pull up on all her players that shows that she really care about the players it’s bigger than basketball”

A Baylor fan also came into the comment section, saying that everyone misses the trio in Waco. Carrington who spent her first four years as a Cardinal transferred to Texas for her final eligibility year. She gave a career-high 14.15 ppg average. At the same time, Brown won the 2019 NCAA championship title and was the WBCA Coaches’ All-American three times. Additionally, Kim Mulkey earned 3 of her 4 National Titles with the Bears. Surely, everyone is bound to miss these amazing faces in the college basketball world after such a legacy.

“We miss all of y’all here at Baylor 🙏”

Kim Mulkey could not lead the Tigers to another championship game in the last season. However, Iowa, which stopped LSU in the Elite Eight, is no longer the same. Only time will tell if Mulkey will be able to repeat the history again in the next season.
