Steph Curry and LeBron James are already showing off their notable connection on the court. As members of Team USA, the Golden State Warriors star and the LA Lakers leader are expected to take their team to the gold medal in the upcoming Paris Olympic Games.

They played their first friendly match in preparation for the big tournament in the French capital against Canada. They took an 86-72 win against one of the teams expected to compete with them for the top spot on the podium.

During the game, James and Curry completed a play that went viral, with the King finishing a fast-break spectacularly off a pass from Curry.

Former Team USA member Dwyane Wade had something to say about it, bringing up his memorable play with LeBron James, saying that the one with Curry looked familiar.

“Looks familiar 😂🔥🔥,” Wade wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, today.

This play took place on December 6, 2010. The Miami Heat faced the Milwaukee Bucks in a regular-season game when Wade and James connected for an iconic dunk.

For many years, fans have admired this play, which became iconic within the NBA World. It’s been 14 years since that moment and a still active James and Steph Curry made their own version, playing for Team USA.

After the game was over, the two players who completed this play shared their excitement over it on social media. The King shared a picture and two videos of the play, hyping up his partnership with Curry.

“🧑🏽‍🍳 X 🤴🏾 IS WHAT YALL BEEN PATIENTLY WAITING FOR! Well we’re here now! LET’S GET IT! Summer time VIBEZ!!” LeBron captioned his post.

Curry followed a similar path, admitting that he loves July basketball and even bragged about seeing LeBron James play from a privileged position.

“🏀 in July! Gotta love it….the lob to @kingjames a little better from this view 🙌🏽 Let’s get it! Off to Abu Dhabi,” Curry wrote on Instagram.

Team USA still has a long way to go to be at the peak of its powers. Although they have a star-studded roster, they need to partner with each other more before the start of the Olympics.
