“Do they ever know what…?!” – LeBron James reacts to the Lakers-Dan Hurley drama

NBA: Playoffs-Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles LakersLeBron James not bothered by LA Lakers head coach buzz

LeBron James doesn’t seem fazed by the reports about the LA Lakers getting rejected by UConn coach Dan Hurley. He interacted with a fan on social media about the narrative regarding his lack of desire to win after it was reported that Hurley opted to stay as a college coach.

The Lakers offered Hurley a six-year, $70 million deal. The university then offered the coach a six-year, $50 million contract extension as he rejected the NBA.

Throughout all this, James didn’t seem like he was worried about who would take over the vacant coaching position left by Darvin Ham. The Lakers star replied to a fan who posted about experts doubting the star’s desire to win.

“Do they ever know what they’re talking about?!” James tweeted.

Even at 39 years old, James is still looking to compete for championships. However, his agent, Rich Paul, shortly after the firing of Ham, reportedly said that the four-time champion isn’t involved in the hiring process.

Even so, his friend and co-host at the “Mind the Game” podcast, JJ Redick, is a leading candidate to be the Lakers’ new coach.

NBA insider on the Lakers’ struggle to keep LeBron James content

Having LeBron James immediately turns any team into a title-contending team. For the Lakers, they’ve tried to contend for titles since James’ second season with them. However, they’ve struggled to keep a solid squad that would help the four-time MVP happy each season.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the front office has struggled to build a compelling roster that could help James capture his fifth title. Wojnarowski doubled down on their struggles since they’re in the Western Conference, which is loaded with elite teams.

“If you’re the Lakers right now, I don’t know if you can say to LeBron James that you guarantee him by the end of free agency or draft that they have a team that’s a championship favorite,” Wojnarowski said. “”It is hard to just say, ‘Hey, LeBron, we’re sure we have a championship team next year.'”

James wrapped up his sixth season with the Lakers, who were eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the first round.
