Caitlin Clark keeps proving that she’s already a household name in the WNBA. The Indiana Fever rookie led the All-Star voting this season, receiving 700,735 votes from fans, surpassing her teammate Aliyah Boston, Aces star A’ja Wilson, Liberty’s Breanna Stewart, and fellow rookie Angel Reese.

With the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game scheduled on July 20, the Fever and the league are trying to market Clark and her fellow All-Stars. However, the difference appears to be huge between the young guard and the other WNBA stars, in terms of popularity and marketability.

The official X (formerly known as Twitter) account of the Fever store announced that Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell’s All-Star jerseys were available for sale. 18 minutes later, they announced that Clark’s jerseys were already sold out in both colors.

As usual, whenever Caitlin Clark is mentioned, fans go on social media to share their thoughts, and this instance is no exception. Some didn’t hesitate to troll Angel Reese while hyping up Clark’s effect in the WNBA.

“Can Angel do that or have that much of an impact?😂😂🗑️🗑️🗑️,” one fan said.

“Angel must be responsible 😂😂😂.. it’s not just about CC RIGHT?” another fan sarcastically asked.

Others recalled that USA Basketball missed the chance of having Clark on the Olympic roster this year, missing out on the opportunity to get more attention to the team and more jersey sales.

“Imagine being @usabasketball who said “no thanks…” to this. 🤡,” one fan wrote.

One fan said posted that the jerseys were sold out even before the Fever announced it.

“I checked after 9 minutes and they were already gone,” this fan said.

Paul Pierce criticized Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese’s snubs from Team USA

Just like many fans on X, a former NBA player didn’t like the fact that Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese weren’t added to the Team USA roster that will travel to Paris for the upcoming Olympic Games. During Thursday’s edition of FS1’s Undisputed, the 2008 NBA champion called it a ‘travesty.’

“The more and more I see Caitlin as the year goes on man, it’s just mind-boggling how the Olympic team dropped the ball on this,” Pierce said. “I can’t believe they left her and Angel Reese… It’s a travesty the more and more I see these two women continue to make history… It’s mind-boggling that she’s not going to be in Paris.”

Clark is reportedly one of the candidates to replace somebody if there is an injury before the tournament. With Diana Taurasi being bothered by a left lower leg issue, the young guard could take her spot on the Olympic team.
