Jake Paul’s new training footage has impressed fans as he prepares to face Mike Perry, and then Mike Tyson.
The YouTube star has already locked in his next two fights, first facing ex-UFC fighter Perry on July 20 before his rescheduled showdown with Tyson on November 15.
Paul crushed the pads in a new training video
He has began training for the busy schedule in his gym in Puerto Rico, and has released footage of him working the pads on social media.
Paul cracked the pads held by a coach in a short and sharp burst, mirroring the previous footage posted by rival Tyson.
He then began cracking the heavy bag with some venom, and fans were impressed with his skills.
One wrote in the comments: “Looking sharp I’d be nervous if I were Perry or Tyson but they don’t have nerves. So keep grinding my brother.”
Another agreed: “This footage is dangerous. Jake is looking sharp.”
A fan continued: “Jake proved he can box, now I genuinely want him to do good.”
One even claimed: “He looks legit you’ve got to respect it.”
A more pessimistic viewer suggested: “Very stiff and slow. Beatable. No world champion.”
Paul then clattered a heavy bag as preparations continue
A fan backed Paul: “Jake’s punching power has definitely improved, looking good bro!”
One final user added: “I advise anyone that doesn’t want to lose their money to bet on Jake Paul.”
Paul is hopeful that a positive 2024 with two wins from the fights will boost his unlikely chances of becoming a boxing world champion.
The ‘Problem Child’ elected to select a replacement for Tyson in order to remain active this summer, with the heavyweight veteran forced to withdraw after suffering an ‘ulcer flare up’.
Perry has experience in bare-knuckle boxing having won his five fights under the BKFC label, but it will be his debut in the traditional ranks.
And the influencer has admitted he is taking a risk by meeting Perry in the squared circle.
He said: “I think this fight is going to have some amazing press conference moments and really entertaining stuff that comes from it, but it is a major risk.
“I’m literally potentially sacrificing the biggest moment of my career, the biggest payday of my career if I lose to Mike Perry.
“But for some reason, these are the positions that I like to put myself in.”
Paul has made significant improvements as his career has gone on, and insists he will take the sport seriously.
The social media star lost to Tommy Fury in the biggest step-up of his career in February 2023, but immediately bounced back with a win over ex-UFC star Nate Diaz.
He is set for a busy period and is keen to face natrual boxers, with rising star Nico Ali Walsh even claiming he had rejected a mega offer to face Paul.
