Jake Paul and Mike Perry argued and traded insults in their first-ever ‘face-to-face’ exchange.

Paul was set to face heavyweight legend Mike Tyson on July 20, but after Tyson pulled out, bare-knuckle boxer Perry has replaced his opponent and saved the day.

After the fight was officially announced, the pair’s fiery feud for several years was brought to the fore in a live interview pitted against each other.

A huge clashing subject was their 2021 sparring session, which has been released in clips on social media.

Paul shouted: “It was three years ago and I was just in my second year of boxing.

“And I worked him all five rounds when I was just a jit, and it will be even crazier on July 20.

“That’s why I know I will knock him out, as now I’m an even better fighter.

“I already beat his a** in sparring and made him my son and he is already admitting to that.

“He is saying he now has a plan but we don’t believe it, and we will now see that sparring session live.

Perry responded: “It seems I hit him hard enough because he was ducking and running that whole six rounds.

“He must have forgotten that fast round, because we were preparing for an eight-round fight.

“In the first two rounds he hit me with that sniper right hand, I smiled in his face and kept the pressure on.

“The next four rounds was me smothering him, and punching him in his face and making him duck into my uppercuts.

“I was even like ‘damn, why aren’t we sparring eight rounds?’ He quit early on the sparring, as he quit before the rounds seven and eight.

“So I’m looking to put it on a plate again.”

The session came before Paul’s third professional fight in a KO win over Ben Askren.

Both fighters have gained significant experience in the sweet science since, with Paul now 9-1 as a professional with his one defeat coming against Tommy Fury.

Perry has had five bare-knuckle boxing clashes under the BKFC banner, beating the likes of Michael ‘Venom’ Page and Eddie Alvarez.

It remains to be seen how their showdown will play out, but Paul is confident of securing a routine win to prevent a bump in the road for his planned November 15 clash with Tyson.
