YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul was challenged to fight Darren Till when ‘Iron Mike’ pulled out of their fight but he snubbed the challenge to reschedule the controversial bout

Jake Paul ignored a challenge from former UFC star Darren Till after Mike Tyson was forced to postpone their controversial fight.

Tyson was scheduled to fight influencer-turned-boxer Paul on July 20 but their fight has been pushed back to November 15 after Tyson was declared medically unfit because of an ulcer flare up. The fight will still take place at the same location, AT&T Stadium in Texas, with the same fight rules as the original booking.

Till is scheduled to make his boxing debut on the undercard of Paul vs Tyson when he fights former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The Scouser, who once challenged for a UFC world title, admitted that he would rather fight Paul instead of Chavez because of the bump in payday he would get.

“I’m not going to sit here and say I wouldn’t fight him,” Till told talkSPORT. “You fight Jake Paul you earn a lot of money and this is prize fighting. The Jake Paul fight, he called me out when the Chavez Jr fight got made. Logan Paul did last year as well. They both called me out I didn’t call them out.

“I thought ‘Okay let’s put your money where your mouth is, I am fresh, I am 31 and I am your size. Let’s do it.’ Tumbleweed, suddenly I didn’t hear anything back.” Till competed at 185lb in his last four UFC fights and likely walks around over 200lb, which is around the same weight as Paul.

Paul showed his class by wishing Tyson well in his recovery from the health scare but vowed he will still be KO’d when they meet in the ring. Tyson, who hasn’t competed in a professional fight since 2005, plans to resume light training in the next few weeks and is confident he can become the first man to KO Paul.

“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best rescheduled date for all parties. While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out,” he said.
